I finally decided to install the WordPress plugin, iWPhone, which allows visitors who are checking out the site on their iPhone to have a more simplified and more iPhonish experience. Here’s an image of what the site will look like on your iPhone.
I’ve also decided that I’m going to start placing YouTube links with my video reviews so people can watch the reviews on their iPhones through the YouTube app. You can test this out by going to the site on your iPhone and clicking on the “Stupid iPhone Tricks” post and there should be a sentence that has a link that you can click on and it will redirect you to your YouTube app.
It seems to me that us early adopters in the UK are going to get screwed as we always do with everything we buy, and probably won’t get anything for it. Starting tomorrow (April 16th), O2 UK and The Carphone Warehouse will be selling the iPhone for just £169 ($338), thats a huge saving of £100 ($200). This move follows T-Mobile’s decision to drop the cost of their iPhone’s. However, T-Mobile is requiring you to take out a more expensive contract, where as O2 lets you choose any you please. These moves from these carriers and The Carphone Warehouse again seem to be fueling up the rumor mill for 3G iPhones, again. So if you live in the UK, or are in the UK between now and June and want a new/spare/Ebayed iPhone then your in Luck.
An O2 spokesperson said ” The Special offer will make the iPhone an unbeatable proposition in the market, helping O2 to gain more market share.”
Please note that the 16GB version will not be dropped and will remain at £319 ($638)

TopiPhoneNews wrote an article today on Innaworks‘ new software that allows the use of Java on the iPhone. What does this specifically mean? It means the productivity of the iPhone with the new upcoming Exchange and syncing calendar and mails will no longer seem so … productive.
Games will be ‘ported’ through this program. How specifically? I unfortunately am unprivileged to know. But what I do know is that my boring commutes to work on the train will be replaced by the many new exciting games that could be released due to this program. Maybe..
Here’s a quote that I thought was brilliantly made by the CEO of the company:
“With the expected introduction of iPhone’s AppStore in June, the iPhone is emerging as a serious gaming platform. We are amazed by the effectiveness of the touch screen and accelerometer on enhancing gaming experience. We expect the early backers among game publishers to significantly benefit from their first mover advantage. AlcheMo for the iPhone will help mobile game publishers to reach the eagerly awaiting gamers with quality games on iPhone and iPod touch.â€
.. really? Had no idea…
Stick out, more to come as always.
Supposedly according to Engadget, the new 2.0 firmware that is due in June will not only give you the ability to save images from Safari to your iPhone’s camera roll, but it will also take full screen snapshots similar to this image. They say that you’ll be able to snap the picture by holding the standby switch and then tapping the home button, it then flashes white (similar to Photobooth) and places the image in your camera roll. This sounds like a really cool new feature, but it’s really not that new for those that have jailbroken iPhones. There’s two apps that you can download via Installer called Capture and Screenshot that allow you to take full screen images of your iPhone. I used Capture for this image. But the ability to save an image off of the web and onto your iPhone sounds like a really handy way to download wallpapers for your iPhone.
Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Very easy to use, affordable, and makes you a safer driver
Cons: Makes the iPhone a bit bulky when you use the RF adapter with an FM transmitter
Verdict: This is a must-have item for anyone that listens to music in their vehicle on their iPhone

Ok, this may not be iPhone news, but many of us have come to love the jawbone and use it everyday. Engadget have reported that the jawbone 2 has just hit the FCC. As well as getting a little smaller, the front has a different pattern, and for some of you who are having trouble with the original, the charging connector has changed. The Jawbone 2 will still have the great noise cancelling functions that we have all come to love since its release, but has slimmed down a little. If you missed the review of the original Jawbone, which was Omar’s 3rd video review, check it out here.
Another one from the rumor mill, but the people over at ZiPhone spotted some code in the brand new 2.0 beta iPhone firmware that could point to the chip to be used in the upcoming iPhone. The code makes mention of “SGOLD3,” which could very well refer to Infineon’s follow up chip to the S-GOLD2 which powers the current iPhone. It has a few new features like 5 mega pixel camera capability instead of the 2 mega pixel and 3G. But don’t expect a 5 mega pixel 3G iPhone. The current chip in the iPhone doesn’t take full advantage of all it’s features, so don’t expect all these new features to be on the new iPhone. The picture underneath is taken from ZiPhone and shows the new code. As with any rumor , just take it with a pinch of salt until anything is confirmed .
If you’re like me you hate the term “iPhone Killer”, it’s such an indiscriminate and general term. But it did grab your attention, didn’t it
. Samsung has come out with a new touch screen phone in Korea called the Anycall (SCH-W420 / SPH-W4200) that looks pretty darn similar to a little Apple device that you may own. It’s funny how everyone makes it seem that all you have to do is create a smart phone with a touch screen and suddenly they have an “iPhone Killer” on their hands, opps I said it again. One cool feature that this phone offers that Apple might implement is the use of tactile feedback through vibration. For now this phone is only available overseas and with a possible price tag of $800 USD. That’s almost the price of 2 iPhones, hey wait a minute, that is the price of 2 iPhones! Below is a commercial for the device. Pay close attention, the click wheel might look a bit familiar as well.
So Walt, the big and famous Tech guru – retracts his statement and makes it clear that he didn’t mean anything when he said “3G iPhone will be out in 60 days” ….. Big and famous obviously isn’t as big as Steve Jobs.
Told.. ya.. so….
Remember the post (I believe it was my 2nd post) when I said something along the lines of how Apple is by far the best marketer in the history of… oh I don’t know – just about everything?
These ‘rumors’ or speculations cause us, the consumers, to want more of their product, want it sooner and as a result want to buy their product regardless of cost.. not to mention standing in line for hours waiting for the new product. And as a result of these actions that predict and retract rumors, it does nothing but get hopes up of the loyal Apple fans. But seriously, are you kidding me?
This ‘taking back’ of his oh so called, casual hint at “3G in 60 days”… I mean come on people, don’t you see it? These events cause and create desire……… Don’t get me wrong, I think it sounds far fetched but I think that’s even a bigger reason that it can actually be true. OR the fact that, Apple has built a superior product that has caused so much buzz, so much talk, so many forums, and so many of these websites that I, myself am writing on – that it’s made a self generated marketing tool. How crazy is that?
So that’s it folks – we all know 3G iPhone is coming in the near future, of course. But can you really see how much and what kind of a buzz there is around the iPhone now?
