Another feature that isn’t shown in the menu is the ability to Uninstall apps that you’ve put on your jailbroken iPhone via Installer app. So now, anytime you don’t want an application anymore, you don’t have to go to Installer and uninstall it from there, all you have to do is hold down your finger on one of the icons (the same way you would to move your icons around on the screen), and click on the X in the corner of the icon, that’s it.

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: The menu is easy to understand and you have full control over adjustments
Cons: It’s one of the few apps for the iPhone that actually costs money (even developers gotta eat)
Verdict: An app with really great options and tweaks that will only make your iPhone, even more awesome.

You can purchase a license for Kate by going to RiP Dev.com. The pricing is:
6 months = $20
12 months = $35
Unlimited = $45
Keep in mind, that as they add new features and options to the app, you’ll get them free of charge.

Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Good screen protection, nice improvements
Cons: Cheap belt clip
Verdict: The biggest improvement that Proporta made to this case was the screen cover latch and I think this was enough of an improvement to change my old rating of a 5 to 7 out of 10.

You can purchase this product directly from Proporta for $28.95.

Ever wanted to grab a song you’ve heard and not wanted to wait until you get to a computer? Well the fine folks ( well kid anyway, the guy is only 19 years old) over at errrick.com/ar have got an app for you. Soulseek allows you to download MP3′s directly to your iPhone via peer to peer file sharing. One big negative…The songs you download don’t stay on the phone once you sync it with iTunes. Here’s to hoping for a future update that keeps them for you.

New BMAi logo

Posted in News by Omar C. Published May 28th, 2008

So if you haven’t noticed, I’ve updated the sites logo. I guess I was kind of tired of people confusing the previous logo as the “Praying Logo”. It was actually supposed to be two hands clenched together in a begging or pleading position as if to say ” Please Please Buy Me An iPhone“. I didn’t really like the vibe that the logo gave off so I redesigned it into a word bubble layout, now it looks more like it’s saying “I’m going to Buy Me An iPhone!”. I’m sure none of this really makes sense, but it did at 1 o’clock in the morning. The iPhone home screen button will change as well for those of you who have it bookmarked on your homescreen.

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Nice snug fit, Chrome screen makes a good mirror, great price
Cons: The screen cover isn’t as thick as you might think, the iPhone screen behind the chrome cover is a little hazy, finger prints gallore
Verdict: If this case allowed you to enjoy the full potential of your iPhone’s screen, it would be a 10.

This product is currently on backorder at PRT for $29.99.

Solar Panels on the next iPhone?

Posted in News by Omar C. Published May 26th, 2008

We all know how “Battery Consumption” minded Apple is about all their products. It’s always one of the issues or concerns that they have to face in order to cram 5 pounds of circuitry into a 3 pound laptop. Well according to MacRumors, Apple has published a patent that discusses different uses for solar panels in their mobile devices (iPods & iPhones) as well as their laptops. This is a genius attempt to utilize a natural resource for the benefit of our power hungry iPhones. There’s just one road block, where do you place solar panels on such a small device like the iPhone? Well the innovative designers at Cupertino have been toying around with the idea of placing a solar panel behind the LCD screen. You can see an illustration of this in the picture of a cross section. So imagine this, you just got off your train, plane, or taxi cab and you’ve drained your battery answering emails, watching youTube and surfing Safari. In the not so distant future, you might be able to go to the nearest coffee shop, order an iced latte and sit outside with your iPhone on the table and charge up for the rest of the days affairs.
