Everyone seems to think that the next iPhone will come in different colors like the iPods. Well here are some artist renderings of what some of the options could be. Post a comment and tell us your favorite. I’m personally digging the burgundy.

The new iphone is nearly here, as most of us know. However, an Australian website is claiming that instead of the normal protocol HSPA, it will use a newer version of Evolved HSPA. What’s the difference you may ask. Well, AT&T’s implementation is said to offer 1.4 Mbps (~175KB/s) download and 800Kbps (100KB/s) upload speeds when complete for normal HSPA. However, the evolved HSPA promises download speeds of 42 Mbps (~5250KB/s).
Channelnews.com.au claims that the new iPhone will indeed be able to support these network speeds on Australia’s Telstra network. According to a senior executive of Telstra:
“We know what is coming we have seen the new device and it will be available on our network as soon as it is launched in the USA. By Xmas this phone will be capable of 42mbs which will make it faster than a lot of broadband offerings and the fastest iPhone on any network in the world”
I suppose we will have to wait until June 9th at WWDC to see what’s hopefully coming our way.

Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: Nice quality leather, snug fit
Cons: The top flap comes loose against the belt clip too easily when the case is rotated on your hip
Verdict: The materials are of high quality but the functionality of this case could use some improvement

The latest iphone 2.0 beta software includes geo-tagging. Appleinsider have reported that the latest version shipped to enterprise customers includes this feature. The latest iPhone 2.0 Beta (5A292g) asks the user for permission before transmitting their location information. Apple currently uses Wi-Fi and cellular tower identification to pinpoint locations, but is rumored to add GPS support in the next version of the iPhone.[...]
Following omar’s post about the black iphone, which I thought was hilarious, I was just wondering what you will call the new iPhone or what you think Apple will call the new iPhone. Will it be iPhone2, 3G iPhone or just plain iPhone. Post a comment and tell us what you think it will be.
Jacob here!
It’s been a while my friends but here is my come back with yet another review!
Up is the CoNice, Mobile Phone Telescope.
In the box – is the zoom lens, a case for the iPhone with a lens mount, and few wrist straps.
Very simple design and a great idea but actual usage was something else.
First the “outer shell” as it says on the box is purely to mount the zoom lens. It is feeble and rather flimsy and I was afraid it might break apart while using it even without the zoom lens.
The Lens itself looks great – a miniature telephoto lens lookalike, that has an actual focus as well as 6 optical zoom (you can’t zoom in or out though).
Although a clever innovation I think it fails to realistically capture any quality shots.
Given, it is indeed for the iPhone’s mere 2 Megapixel camera, with very limited functions, and etc. But after testing both with and without the lens, I feel confident to say that I prefer without the zoom lens.
One of the first things that I noticed while using the zoom lens was the instability it caused by the 6X optical zoom. That’s an insane amount of zoom for a tiny, limited cellphone camera. The inability to casually shoot a photo, without appearing as if the image is constantly shaking on the screen really makes it difficult to use this lens. Using this lens results an image that is blurry and lacking composition.
Another huge factor is the lighting. Without the lack of abundant light, any images taken, especially by a limited cellphone camera will lack quality. I think this lens actually underexposes the images taken by the phone because the zoom is too much for a small cellphone camera.
Overall – I think it was a cool idea but I don’t think it’s really realistic.

Did you think I forgot about the Contest? Well like my last post spoke about, I was a little busy and distracted with my vacation plans so maybe I didn’t get around to posting the contest but I’m back and I’m sure you’re wondering what I’m going to ask you to do in order to win some free prizes. Well I’ve been a little curious for some time about how helpful my video reviews have been for helping my readers pick a case or find the right accessory for their iPhone. So to enter the contest you only have to do one of two things: Either let me know if one of my reviews helped you pick an accessory for your iPhone or if this isn’t the case for you, just tell me what new feature you would like to see on the site. For your helpful information I will pick one winner at random who will win the Maximo Stereo Headset, the Mobile.Brando External Battery Power Station and 3 random cases of my choosing. You can respond as many times as you want but it will only count as 1 entry.
If you noticed in the past week that the site seemed a little low on posts, it’s because I was on vacation with my family in Puerto Rico for the past week and a half. Unfortunately my grand mother didn’t have internet and there were no available Wi-Fi hotspots in the area that she lives. The only internet browsing I was able to do was on my iPhone, and that was only when I was on the west side of the house in the bath room holding the phone up above my head. Just in case any one is planning a trip to Puerto Rico, the cell phone range isn’t too bad except when your deep in the center of the island (which I was). If you stay in the tourist areas like along the beach line there’s usually full bars and EDGE. While on my trip, I made it a point to see how many iPhones I could spot. Well I’m sad to say that I only saw one, and that was at the airport coming back home. I actually didn’t even see any AT&T stores, bill boards, or commercials at all. I did have an opportunity to test out some noise canceling earphones that Scosche sent me so I’ll be posting that review very soon. If you want to see some of the pics I took from my trip click here.
Last month Rogers Wireless confirmed the iPhone for Canada. Now electronista is reporting that sources inside the company are saying that the 3G iPhone will debut next month (presumably about the same time as the US launch). Also, the article goes on to say that the iPhone will qualify for Rogers new reasonably priced $7 unlimited data plan. Rogers has been known for really high data prices in Canada. This new plan is ideal for the new, speedier, more data hungry iPhone. For people in Canada, this could be good news, or bad news, whichever way you see it. Again, this is pumping more and more rumours into the 3G iPhone, which is expected to be announced on 9th June at WWDC by Steve Jobs.
