MobileMe Launching Today, July 9th

According to Apple, MobileMe could be launched as early as today July 9th 6pm. At that time www.mac.com will be taken offline for good. Any members with .Mac account will not be able to access any of their .Mac services besides email. MobileMe is to be launched within a 6hour window of 6pm-12am July 9/10th. Apple has gone on to say that they are trying to launch MobileMe as close as possible to 6pm.

This is more than likely due to the launch of the iPhone 3G in New Zealand on the 10th of July. iTunes 7.7 should also be released around the same time, for use with the iPhone. MobileMe will be available at the price of $69 for iPhone 3G users. Regular Joes can pony up $99 smackers to be part of the crowd.
