App Review: Juxtaposer

The iPhone is becoming more and more advanced with its creativity applications. For a minor amount spent in the app store, one can create numerous cool photoshop-like projects with the plethora of creativity apps available. I have installed numerous photoshop-like applications on my iPhone and “Juxtaposer” easily beats them all with its phenomenal interface and brilliant capabilities to create numerous fun and cool projects. Juxtaposer basically allows you to combine your pictures, either from your camera or library, easily and efficiently. Essentially, the concept of this app is to take any element or component from one picture and add it to another. For example, have you ever wanted to put your face on the guy standing next to a celebrity to show off that you met that celebrity? Or perhaps you wanted to make it funny and add your dog or cat’s head to someone else’s body? The possibilities with this app are endless. Not only can you change “heads” but you too can change the background. For instance, you can crop yourself and place the cropped image in a new background. Like I mentioned earlier, its amazing how similar this app is to photoshop. In order to create some fun stuff, you firstly load any two pictures in the app. Next, you use your finger to erase around the image you want to crop. Juxtaposer allows you to zoom in for fine detail and greater accuracy. With the “move mode,” you can transform the size of the cropped image with the pinch and expand gestures with two fingers, move the cropped image to its ideal location, as well as rotate the image. If you want to further detail your project, you can put the image in “translucent mode” and erase any aspects of the picture that are unnecessary from seeing the bottom layered image. Once your satisfied with your project, you can save the project and it will be exported to the camera roll on your iPhone. Overall, Juxtaposer makes it incredibly easy, intuitive, and fun to create funny or cool projects on your iPhone. I highly recommend this app because of its phenomenal interface, great array of tools provided, and the ability to create many cool projects.
