Santa Goes High Tech: App Review “Santa Live 3D”

Just for the record I love the holidays and probably more so the past 6 years since I have become a parent. It’s such a blast watching my 6 year old girl get all fired up about Santa coming to town, my other daughter will turn 1 just before Christmas and we are excited to see her rip open some gifts. We have our traditions: put up the lights and decorations Thanksgiving week, open the Advent calendar every night before bedtime and this year we will be adding a new tradition. Santa is going high tech this year and we are going to enjoy it as a family on my iPhone. The Casual game Network has released a great app for the holidays, Santa 3D live (99 cents until Thanksgiving day then it goes to the regular price of $1.99). Between Thanksgiving and Christmas The Casual Game network will broadcast 30 episodes of footage from Santa’s webcam. Your family will enjoy seeing Santa, Mrs. Claus, all the Elves and Reindeer go about their busy days leading up to Christmas. From getting your letters at the mailbox to the intricacies of toy making, your family will enjoy following Santa’s every move. The culmination will be tracking Santa on Christmas Eve until he tells you just when he should arrive at your house. Now get to bed kiddies. We have watched the preview episode as a family and if the subsequent episodes are even half as entertaining as the preview the holiday season will be very joyous. On a marketing note: what a great way to introduce the younger generation to the capabilities and technological advances of the iPhone and iPod touch. I’m sure there will be even more little ones asking Santa for iPod touches next year to not only follow Santa but hopefully the Easter Bunny, maybe even Cupid and Father Time. A fantastic value at $1.99 and even a bigger bargain at 99 cents until Thanksgiving. I’m sure it will end up costing me less than a penny a smile and really isn’t that what the holiday season is all about: smiles on kids’ faces.
