Happy New Year loyal readers!!!!! It’s hard to believe that 2008 is gone and here we are the first few days of 2009. We hop to start the year off by bringing you some great information from Macworld, San Francisco but until then I have an App that I think will be very useful to the masses.
I know a lot of people make New Years resolutions and I do also. This year my resolution is to spend a lot more time reading and I don’t necessarily mean reading more on the net, although I really love my daily news and rumor sites. My resolution is to read more books, yes, books. I know I have forgotten about those things also, they have a cover, pages and usually a really nicely crafted spine. Now I have made this resolution in the past but I have always had one fundamental problem: when I went to the bookstore I would forget about all the great books I planned to read. Some were recommendations from friends others were from book reviews I would read and some just from advertisements I have seen.
This year Square Wheel Software has solved my problem with the App that they have developed: “Next Read”. “Next Read”, 99 cents in the App store is an App that is designed to help you track books you would like to read over time, remind you where you heard about the book, assign a numerical score to the book based on importance, and even check pricing and availability on pricing. Now when I go to the bookstore I won’t be wandering around trying to decide whether the book I am holding just looks good because of the cover art and the ever so clever marketing printed on the inside flaps or if it’s really a winner and worth the investment of time and money. I can keep a list of books I believe I would like to read over the next year in the palm of my hand, the iPhone keeps getting better and better.
Now if Square Wheel Software would only develop a similar App for my Christmas list, this way when my loving family asks what I want for Christmas I won’t respond with the dumfounded response “Uhhh, I don’t know”, then complain about the tie and nasty cologne I open on Christmas morning.
If you would like to see a particular product or application reviewed or just want to drop me a line please do so at tommoccia@buymeaniphone.com I always love hearing from our readers.
