MacRumors may have the very first shot of the rumored iPhone 3 next to the current 3G. The current rumor mill states that the new iPhone will have a “rubber matte” finish. Personally the rubber finish will help with scratches and from a grip stand point. However, I do not find the finish appealing at all. I feel sorry for all the 3rd party case developers. I feel that a lot more users might opt to not buy a case because of the new backing. What do you guys and gals think?

It seems that ChinaOnTrade.com – a site that gets parts directly from the factories where Apple hardware is produced – is now selling parts for the upcoming iPhone. We can see some changes were made to the bezel – it’s now shaped differently and it is BLACK. Rumors say the new position of the speaker is cut out that way to fit new sensors (possible new iChat camera for video conferencing?). There is also a difference in the screen – previous iPhone generation ( 3G ) has a screen in the $35 price range. Maybe the new screen will be OLED? We will see hopefully at WWDC.

Pros: Completely customizable, comes with screen protector and cleaning cloth
Cons: The nylon may show dirt and wear easier than leather and other traditional materials that cases are usually made of.
Overall: This is one of the nicest cases that I have used in a while, I love the look of the nylon. This case may cost $60, but I think that’s a bargain for a case that you can completely customize to fit your taste. I would definitely recommend this case to anyone looking for something new and different from all the plastic slider cases that are flooding the market. I’m going to award this case the Editors’ Choice Award.
You can purchase this case directly from Shinnorie for $60.

Pros: Different type of app, novelty item for parties and get togethers, would be fun with lots of people.
Cons: Seems like it would lose it’s entertainment value quite quickly. $1.99 is a bit high in my opinion.
Overall: Tapinoma puts out quality apps at a fair price and this app seems like it would definitely be a conversation starter at a party. I could see a bunch of people laughing over each others palm reading. After that though the entertainment is limited. I would have liked to see this app priced at 99 cents to make it a bit more palatable. Other than that it is well designed and fun.
You can purchase Gypsy Queen by Tapinoma for $1.99 in the App Store by clicking here.
A very trusted source just disclosed some information to us that we thought we just had to pass on to our readers. First off, they confirmed a circulating rumor that there will be a new iPod Nano available soon that will have a built-in camera.
The second tidbit they disclosed was that the new iPhone would be shipping with new earphones, similar in style to the new iPod shuffle earphones. As some of you may know, these earphones have the ability to not only control your music’s playback but also the volume level, thanks in part to a new chip that Apple has started using in these earphones. Well according to our source, this is only a small glimpse as to what this new chip is capable of doing. When these earphones are used with the next generation iPhone, and in conjunction with the 3.0 software update, these earphones could have a myriad of uses and functions. Some examples would be to use the earphones as a shutter button for your iPhone’s camera, or perhaps to zoom in and out with the expected video capabilities of the next iPhone. Another feature that I thought was interesting, could be to use the headphones as an additional input device for gaming on the iPhone.
Obviously these features are now dormant on the earphones, but I’d be willing to guess once the official 3.0 update is released that you might be able to use them with your iPhone 3G and even the first generation iPhone. Only time will tell, keep in mind this is only hearsay so take all this with a grain of salt.

Pros: cheap, possibly protects from water, mud, sweat and BLOOD ![]()
Cons: you can use it only once and it looks ugly
Overall: A product that does what it advertises however I personally wouldn’t use it on a daily basis
You can get yourself this Mobile Protector for only 0.75 EUR on their website.

Pros: fast, very durable, water resistant
Cons: not that appealing ( cube design ), I couldn’t format it as ntfs drive so file size limit is 2GB
Overall: A great product if you want a fast, secure and hardcore 8GB pen drive – so if those are your priorities then it’s definitely a good choice.
