Video Review: Wrapsol Screen Protector

Posted in Reviews, Screen Protector, Video by Martin B. Published June 16th, 2009

Rating: 10 out of 10

Pros: high quality protection foil, microfiber towel and a reusable rubber squeegee which can be used as eraser, furthermore all packaging is fully recyclable and when you purchase a Wrapsol you will save a rain forest.

Cons: I couldn’t find really anything wrong with it

Overall: Wrapsol protection foil is a great and high quality product for many devices. Tested in this review Wrapsol for iPhone 3G perfectly fitted the device, it feels much better then ZAGG Invisible Shield, it feels like you are touching a naked iPhone screen, however it might not be as durable and scratch resistant as ZAGG. In my opinion ease of installation plays a major role in that type of product, and the Wrapsol scores 10/10 for that. Overall for the same price as ZAGG’s Invisible Shield we get a little more because Wrapsol adds very high quality microfiber towel. Get your wrapsol today from www.wrapsol.com

Pivotal Announces NEW Carbon Podium for iPhone

Posted in News by Martin B. Published June 16th, 2009

mail

One week after Apple’s announcement of the new iPhone 3G S, Pivotal introduces a bold addition to the Podium lineup, aptly named Carbon for its deep black textured finish.

A black Podium has been long been requested by customers and Pivotal worked hard to dial in a unique, durable finish with a tactile quality worthy of the Podium name.

“I’m thrilled to finally announce its availability today on the heels of Apple’s recent announcement of the 3G S, as it’s quickly become my favorite Podium” says Pivotal’s president, Scott Baumann.

Pivotal points out that in addition to Carbon’s compatibility with iPhone 3G S, it also has been made available to work with iPhone Original and iPhone 3G.  Podium Carbon is available now at www.PodiumRevolution.com

“How the iPhone Helped Us Survive a Disaster!!!”

Posted in News, Video by Tom Moccia. Published June 16th, 2009

This is a short video from Christine Rankin (aka Stil29) on how her iPhone helped her family survive a natural disaster.  Christine and her family live in the midwest and just a few short weeks ago were hit by major storms that left them without power for eight days.  We here at BuyMeAniPhone think that everyone needs to be informed about how they can use their iPhones in an emergency situation.  We thank Christine for sharing her story with us and although we hope no one ever has to go through what they did, we feel that this video will help prepare you just in case.

Video Review: Contour Roller Mouse Pro

Posted in Mac Monday, Video, mouse by Omar C. Published June 15th, 2009

Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Never have to move your hands from the keyboard ever again. Lots of programmable buttons, built-in palm rest
Cons: Expensive, and when you reach the end of the scroll bar, it jumps to the edge of the screen (watch the video for a better explanation). Awkward to use with video editing software or graphic design software.
Overall: I like this “mouse” and I use that term loosely since it’s unlike any mouse I’ve ever seen. Although it was a bit cumbersome to use with Photoshop and iMovie, it was a breeze with regular web surfing and word processing. I think the $200 price tag will scare some away though.

You can purchase this product directly from Contour for $199.

Mac Monday: Slim Carrie by Flickz Cases

Posted in Bag, Mac Monday, Misc, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published June 12th, 2009

Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: For women this laptop bag really looks more like a stylish purse, very lightweight, lots of pockets inside, comes in 6 different color combinations
Cons: The interior fabric could be a bit thicker and of better quality.  I can see this wearing out rather quickly.  No shoulder strap so it does not lend itself to the men out there.
Overall: A good laptop bag for the price and it doesn’t shout  ”I HAVE A LAPTOP!!!”.  A bit different in styling which is is good in these days of the hohum messenger bag.  Although it looks like a purse I guess a guy could get away rockin’ this bag.  The biggest thing that was omitted is the shoulder strap.  Why no strap?

You can purchase the Slim Carrie by Flickz Cases for $42.80 directly from their website.  And the shipping from Singapore is quite reasonable.

AT&T Sells out of iPhone 3GS for Pre-Order

Posted in News by Tom Moccia. Published June 12th, 2009

iphone-3g-sold-outWell if you didn’t pre-order your iPhone 3GS from AT&T already it looks like you will be waiting 7-14 days after your order date to get your little hands on your new iPhone.  Now we are not talking about Apple Store pre-orders as I am pretty sure Apple will have allocated itself more pre-order stock to itself than it did AT&T.  So if you want your iPhone 3GS on Launch Day it looks like you will be lining up at the AT&T Store as all AT&T orders going forward will be shipping sometime after the magic day of June 19th.

We want to know where will you be lining up for YOUR iPhone 3GS?  Tell us what store (Apple or AT&T) and the city you’ll be in. If you need a cool shirt to wear while you wait for your new iToy, we know where you can find one :) .

Video App Review: Horseshoes Pro

Posted in Apps, Apps, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published June 12th, 2009

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Makes you feel like you are at your family picnic down to the lawnmower in the background, two different grip to throw the horseshoe, multiple types of game play: Ringers, Arcade Toss, Tournament or Pass-n-Play (head to head), Global High score board.
Cons: Would be cool to have more than 2 players for Pass-n-Play.  If you don’t like horseshoes you won’t like this game, but other than that this game is near perfect.
Overall: An extremely family friendly game with a minute learning curve.  You can just kill a few minutes playing arcade toss or you can get more serious and competitive playing the Tournament Mode or against a friend. Skyworks rarely puts out a dud of a game and this is another winner.

Skyworks Horseshoes is available through the iTunes App store in both the Lite version (FREE) or the Pro version for $1.99. Click the links to be directed to their app pages in iTunes.
