iPhone 3.1 will allow for Augmented Reality Apps

Augmented reality uses the device’s GPS, camera and digital compass to overlay real-time data onto live video. Here’s a video demonstration of an app called Nearest Subway which utilizes this feature. This is only the tip of the iceberg. These types of Apps are what will really differentiate the iPhone from other smartphones with built-in digital compasses.
