Rating: 7.5 out of 10
Pros: Very simple user interface, nice selection of POI’s, can navigate while taking a phone call, very attractive lane assistance, nice loud volume for voice prompts. Maps loaded to phone so no need to be within a cell tower. All of North America is sold as one map.
Cons: Not a ton of user customization. Monochrome color scheme, user can’t add or delete POI’s, The occasional repetitive “Caution” prompts are somewhat annoying when no road hazards are present.
Overall: A nice navigational application for the iPhone.  The simplistic user interface will either make you love this app for it’s ease of use or it will be having you yearning for more customization. Accuracy is right on the money in my tests here in Northern California and my non-tech wife was able to input destinations very easily.  This app is on Sale for $69.99 until August 15, 2009 then it goes to the regular price of $99.99, click here to be brought to it’s page in the app store.  Now at $99.99 it will be on the higher end price wise of the GPS applications but if you compare it to purchasing a stand alone unit it is comparable in price.

Great in-depth review of Navigon. It really gave me an idea of exactly how the app works and the features.

Just so you know, the ‘Caution’ prompts are when you exceed the spped limit by a certain threshold. That’s configurable in the settings (5mph over, 10mph over, etc.) or you can turn them off altogether.

When are you doing iGo My Way?
