In a surprising turn to giving customers something for nothing, AT&T implemented the “A List” this week. So what is the “A List” you ask? Well AT&T customers that have an individual plan starting at $59.99 or a Family Plan starting at $89.99 can add any 5 or 10 numbers respectively to their account at no charge. Yes I said “no charge”, “Free”. These calls will not deplete your anytime minutes. This is similar to other carrier programs such as T-Mobile’s “my faves” or Verizon’s “Friends & Family”. This adds significant value to AT&T customers plans and is brilliant marketing. Now some customers on $39.99 individual plans and customers on family plans below $89.99 will complain and moan that its not fair to them and that AT&T is doing this just to get people to upgrade plans. I say “So What!”. AT&T is a business and is there to make money so if it gets some people to upgrade what’s wrong with that? The more important aspect is it may draw some customers to AT&T that might be hesitant without a circle of friends sort to speak. So AT&T is stepping up their game, now they are the only carrier with rollover and have added a service that other carriers tout. Right now it is tough to find a better value than AT&T and once they convert to the 4G network with better all around coverage it may be tough to find any shortcomings. Time will tell and we will keep you up to date on any new features.
