Joe Hewitt, the man behind quite possibly the most popular iPhone app yet, is hanging up his cleats. In a recent post on his Twitter page he let his followers know of the upcoming changes. Hewitt will be remaining with Facebook, however he will begin working on a new project that has not been named as of yet. Hewitt’s reason for leaving:
‘I have only one major complaint with the App Store, and I can state it quite simply: the review process needs to be eliminated completely‘.
As we have seen recently more and more developers have began to voice their opinions of the App Store’s review process. Expressing their dislike for the amount of time it takes to get apps approved, and the many many reason why apps get rejected. One can only hope that Apple sees one the biggest in the arena leaving from the table, and decides to step up and make some changes. Likelihood in that happening, slim to none.
