Megellan RoadMate for iPhone

Taking a look in the App Store you will no doubt see a few different turn-by-turn GPS apps. Well not to be outdone, another popular GPS manufacturer has set its sights on the iPhone platform and released their own GPS application. Magellan released their RoadMate application on Saturday in the Apple App Store. So what makes this app different from the rest of the bunch. Magellan offers out of the box Text to Speech, Lane Guidance and a new ‘One Touch’ feature. Magellan is also releasing a dock similar to the TomTom car kit. Unlike TomTom, the Magellan dock will be compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3Gs and the iPod Touch Second Generation. The car kit will also allow the use of the GPS enhancement module with other GPS applications for the device. The app is available for a limited time of $79.99. Compared to the other big names that’s a steal. However no price has been named for after the introductory offer. Also there is no price point set for the car kit system.
