Video Review: Safe Eyes Filtering Browser app

Pros: A Very nice browser with a excellent filtering
Cons: None really just could use a little more tweaking which I am sure will come in an update
Overall: This is a great application for those parents who want to make sure that there kids are viewing the websites they think are acceptable. This is good application with no real bugs I think it’s a great app that will only get better with future updates.

    I am excited to try this application. But will it block while using safari. Because if I was truely intending on looking up adult websites I would just use the different browser rather than the one that manages what sites I am able to look up.

    Please let me know.

    It does not block Safari, but you can disable Safari in the general setup if you want to.
    For me the con is that it blocks youtube rather than filtering it. Hopefully this will come with an upgrade.

    Read the reviews on iTunes for the real story. The app is junk. It does not multi-task, crashes constantly, back/forward buttons do not work, cannot load basic webapps like gmail, etc. etc. etc. Don’t buy this app.

    Great review. Do you know how the app responds if a child downloads another app browser, will it still filter? If not, what keeps a person from just downloading another app browser? At Itunes store, several browsers are approved for >7 so a person can’t just block apps rated <7. How does the app respond to a search for pictures, can a child change the picture setting to no filter?

    Safe Eyes Mobile, X3Watch, and Covenant Eyes all work the same on iOS. They can only filter/report within their own application. Apple doesn’t allow developers to hook into the IP stack with their application and block/read website requests of other applications. It’s unfortunate but that’s Apple’s policy.
