Did The iPad Get AT&T More iPhone Exclusivity?

The buzz around the internet today is that we might not be seeing a Verizon iPhone in 2010. It seems as if the soonest will be Spring of 2011. The reason: AT&T’s extremely low US data prices for the iPad. Verizon was at one time the front runner for the iPad, but AT&T hit hard with an extremely competitive price point, garnering more time as the only iPhone carrier here in the States. I was hoping that Verizon would get the iPhone. In my neck of the woods, AT&T’s coverage is sorely lacking, but Big Red is just about everywhere.  As of right now this is all speculation. I for one am hoping that it is wrong.
