AT&T Changing Data Rate Plans

Today AT&T finally changed the data rates and usage allotments that have been in effect since 2010. A good portion of the reason is increased data usage from it’s smartphone customers as well as staying competitive with other carriers.

The new plans will go into effect Sunday, January 22 so if you plan on changing to a current plan make sure you do it before then inorder to be grandfathered in to your old plan.

Here is the official statement from AT&T:

“Customers are using more data than ever before,” said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Our new plans are driven by this increasing demand in a highly competitive environment, and continue to deliver a great value to customers, especially as we continue our 4G LTE deployment.”

Incipio Silicrylic for Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Rating: 8/10

Pros: Offers great protection whilst maintaining a relatively slim form factor, stylish design through use of contrasting colors

Cons: Pricey at $29.99, silicone is saggy and can collect lint

Overall: The Incipio Silicrylic is a good option for the average user looking for good protection, the reinforced corners make sure any drops in the area can be absorbed and prevent damage to your device. Unfortunately the silicone isn’t too high quality so it is stretchy and saggy, which allows lint into the case. At $29.99, this is a pricey investment – but rest assured this will protect your device.

CES 2012: New Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Announced

The AR Drone has been a big hit since it was announced at CES 2010, but Parrot hasn’t been sitting on their laurels. They’ve been working to improve the remote controlled quad copter and they announced the new AR Drone 2.0.
