Review: JAVOedge Axis Case for iPad: Sports Edition

Posted in Cases, Review Preview, Reviews, Video, humor, iPad by Doug Drummond. Published August 22nd, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Can be folded into 2 different standing positions, great character with the sports theme, very well constructed
Cons: Rubber rails can leave impressions on screen, Priced high
Overall: The JAVOedge Axis Case Sports Edition is a slam dunk!  JAVOedge hit a homerun with their Sports cases.  JAVOedge serves up 3 separate sports themed cases.  Although the price is pretty high if your looking for a case with character and attitude to show off your love for sports, JAVOedge makes it.  I would like to see the price be cheaper in the $30 range, so look around. JAVOedge wants you to visit AMAZON.com to purchase the cases or click BASKETBALL, BASEBALL or TENNIS to buy the cases directly from AMAZON.

Pros: Great feel, great design, SUPER CHEAP price!
Cons: As with all silicone cases, can catch some lint.
Overall: Case-Mate does it again with rock bottom prices for their quality and include the screen shields for complete protection.  This case provides adequate protection, not loose or flimsy and makes a great conversation piece.

Video Review: iPad Otterbox Defender

Posted in Cases, Review Preview, Reviews, Video, iPad by Doug Drummond. Published August 2nd, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Back plate becomes horizontal stand, Can be used with iPad dock.  Ultimate protection
Cons: High price, adds bulk
Overall: This is one of my favorites right now.  Exceptional protection and the best drop protection for your iPad to date.  The price is steep so unless you NEED all this protection there are much cheaper cases out there.  Not for everyone, but for the buyers wanting a case that holds up to much abuse, the Otterbox Defender is the perfect solution.

Otterbox defender can be purchased at the Otterbox.com for $ 89.99

New Social Networking Magazine App – Flipboard

Posted in Apps, Review Preview by Omar C. Published July 21st, 2010

This is a very interesting concept that combines information from all your social networking sources like Facebook and Twitter and creates a custom “magazine” for you to flip through. I’m not sure how successful it’ll be, but it seems like an app that will catch on with the popularity of Facebook and Twitter increasing. Plus it’s FREE so what do you have to lose. We should have a review of Flipboard very soon.

You can purchase Flipboard for FREE from the App Store
