Review: ZAGGmate with Keyboard for iPad

Posted in Bluetooth, Cases, Reviews, Video, iPad by Doug Drummond. Published January 17th, 2011

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Adds a beautiful bluetooth keyboard to your iPad. Much easier for typing on the iPad. Built of the same material as iPad
Cons: Keys are a little close together, scratches easily
Overall: This is another favorite accessory for the iPad.  Turn your iPad into a mini 9″ replica MacBook Pro by adding the ZAGGmate with keyboard.  With specific buttons made just for the iPad, accessing controls is simple.  Holds the iPad in both Landscape and Portrait modes.  Fold it up into the clamshell for complete protection of your iPad screen.  Add the ZAGG InvisibleSHIELDs to both the iPad and ZAGGmate for complete scratch protection.  You’ve got yourself one great product that gets lots of looks and questions on “Which MacBook is that?”  The ZAGGmate earns my Editors Choice Award because its fun to use, functional and looks great.

Pick up your ZAGGmate with keyboard for $99.99 and without keyboard for $69.99 by visiting ZAGG.com or by just clicking here.  Don’t forget the InvisibleSHIELDs for both devices!

Rating: 10 out of 10
Pros: Built in Bluetooth storage, great sound quality
Cons: Can’t charge Bluetooth without using the case
Overall: I recommend this case to anyone who uses a Bluetooth headset.  This is my absolute favorite case and Bluetooth.  Great sound quality, superb noise canceling and great fit in the ear.  The design is sleek and feels good in the hand, easy in and out of the case, won’t bubble screen shields.  The headset gets 4 hours talk time and up to 3 days on standby.  Recharging is made simple with the included mini usb to usb charge cable.  The price is great for both a headset and a nice elegant protective case.  At just $99.99 from www.mogostore.com you can buy yours today.  I award the Mogo Talk XD for iPhone 4 our prestigious Editors Choice award for design, comfort and innovation.  I loved the MoGo for my 3GS and this time they’ve only made it better for the iPhone 4.

Review: NoiseHush N650 Solar Bluetooth Car Kit

Posted in Bluetooth, Reviews, Vehicle Accessory, Video, iPhone 4 by Doug Drummond. Published November 25th, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Loud Speaker, Easy installation, Phone book migration, large LCD, SOLAR POWERED, battery backup
Cons: Voice quality distorts at high volume, callers complain I was hard to hear at times
Overall: Looking for a great hands free carkit?  Want to be green?  Then check out the SOLARVisor N650 by Noise Hush form Wirelessground.com.  Keep your eyes on the road and ears unobstructed by using this carkit.  The voice quality was loud and easy to hear but with any bluetooth device in a roaring car, you may be slightly harder to hear than a normal call.

The SolarVisor can be purchased for $59.95 from wirelessground.com

Vetro Bluetooth Headset by Callpod

Posted in Bluetooth, Reviews, Vehicle Accessory, Video by Tom Moccia. Published November 8th, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Great noise isolation, stylish design, walkie talkie feature, solid battery life, great range.
Cons: Expensive, collects dust under clear portion.
Overall: Callpod has produced a solid performer in their Vetro Bluetooth headset and with the extended range, stylish design and walkie talkie feature between other callpod headsets this qualifies for a tag of innovative for sure. The $99.99 price tag may be a bit high for the average user but if you are looking for a solid performer the Vetro is worth consideration.

You can purchase the Vetro directly from Callpod for $99.99 by clicking here and being directed to their website.

Video Review: Sennheiser EZX60 Bluetooth Headset

Posted in Bluetooth, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published October 12th, 2010

Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Solid construction from a respected manufacturer, easy to use and pair.
Cons: No ear gels as the earpiece just sits against your ear, sound is a bit tinnie.
Overall: The Sennheiser EZX60 is a good mid level earpiece but does not have a ton of customizable features like different size ear gels or ear clips.  This is a good earpiece for short term use but tends to become uncomfortable after long periods of time.

You can purchase the Sennheiser EZX60 from Amazon for around $80 and you can learn more by clicking here and being directed to the Sennheiser site.

Video Review: Plantronics Voyager Pro headset

Posted in Bluetooth, Editors' Choice, Headsets, Reviews, Vehicle Accessory, Video by Tom Moccia. Published September 27th, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Extremely comfortable, fantastic noise isolation, buttons very easy to use, battery lasts forever.
Cons: Looks kind of geeky, no retractable boom.
Overall: The Plantronics Voyager Pro is by far the best bluetooth headset I have ever used. Incoming calls are crystal clear with no tin sound and people on the other end of the line have no idea that I am talking on a bluetooth headset.  Wind noise is non existent and the dual mics really do their job to maximize performance.  Aside from performance the next challenge I have with most headsets is that after about 20 minutes they start hurting my ears but not the Plantronics Voyager Pro as I often forget its on and am surprised when I realize I am wearing it in a situation where I should not be.  The Plantronics Voyager Pro easily gets my Editor’s Choice Award.

The Plantronics Voyager Pro can be found at numerous online stores as well as many brick and mortar locations anywhere from $59-$99.
