Video Review: Dexim P-Flip for iPod Touch

Posted in External Battery, Reviews, Video by Nick. Published June 2nd, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Collapsible design, Works for iPhone and iPod touch
Cons: LEDs too bright and can be distracting in dark rooms
Overall: A great backup battery pack, I really like the option to charge it as a cradle, as well as an extension off the end of the phone, I just wish the LEDs to signify fully charged were not quite as powerful.

This product can be purchased on Dexim.net

Video Review: Dexim P-Flip External Battery

Posted in External Battery, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published May 26th, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Very compact, holds device either vertically or horizontally, free alarm clock app,  will fully charge a nearly dead iPhone, affordable.
Cons: iPhone won’t fit if its in a case, would have liked to see the iPod touch spacer designed so it doesn’t constantly come out of place when dismounting touch.

Overall: The Dexim P-flip sports a 2000 mAh battery that will keep your iPhone or iPod touch charged for the day.  With a super compact design, the ability to stand your device in both portrait and landscape mode gives this battery pack a very unique quality.  The Dexim P-Flip can be purchased from a number of online and brick and mortar retailers with a price averaging roughly $50.  Make sure you do your research to get the best price out there.

Video Review: Dexim P-Flip 3 in 1 Bundle Pack

Posted in Cases, External Battery, Video by Pashyn. Published May 3rd, 2010

Rating: 10 out of 10
Pros: The bundle comes with tons of goodies, the cases are great, and the P-Flip itself is an amazing device! The biggest highlight of the P-Flip is its versatility, as its no ordinary battery back up but also converts into a dock, and media stand.
Cons: None.
Overall: I found this entire pack a diamond! When fully charged can get you up to 8 hrs of talk time, 15 hrs of video & gaming, & 60 hours of music. In my opinion every iPhone user should have a battery back up, and if your are going to have one best make it the Dexim P-Filp. I highly recommend it!

You can purchase this product for the current price of $69.90 from dexim.net

Video Review: Dexim BluePack S3 External Battery

Posted in External Battery, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published May 3rd, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Long lasting external battery that’s not just for the iPhone, “Works with iPhone” “Made for iPod” certified, compatible with both 30 pin connected devices as well as Blackberry, T Mobile G1 and HTC, charges iPhone from dead at least twice, LED “torch” flashlight built in.
Cons: A bit awkward with it not being a battery case.
Overall: The Dexim BluePack S3 is a 2600mAh external battery that charged my iPhone from less than 10% to full twice on one charge.  With extended usage up to 10 hours of talk time, 20 hours video playback and 80 hours of music this battery is a solid performer and a great buy.  The Dexim BluePack S3 is getting a little harder to find in retail with the introduction of the S8 which sports an upgraded 3000 mAh battery.  The S8 can be found on Amazon for $79.90 by clicking here. Video Review: Mophie Juice Pack Air

Posted in Cases, External Battery, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published April 14th, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Slim form fitting case with a battery embedded, extends your talk time by at least double, easy to use, very protective, on/off switch, covers the entire phone as opposed to the first mophie juice pack edition that left the top of your phone exposed.
Cons: A bit on the expensive side at $79, does not cover your chrome bezel.
Overall: The Mophie Juice Pack Air comes in two flavors; gloss and matte.  While the gloss finish is available in white, black or purple; the matte finish is only available in red.  The Mophie Juice Pack Air more than doubles your usage of the iPhone whether you are talking on 3G, listening to music or watching your favorite videos.

The Mophie Juice Pack Air is available for $79.95 from the Mophie website.

Video Review: Duracell Instant Charger Battery

Posted in External Battery, Misc, Review Preview, Reviews, Video by Doug Drummond. Published March 23rd, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Charges MANY electronic devices with a USB, Very slim design for power on the go
Cons: 1150MaH is on the small side
Overall: This is a great solution for charging while on the go.  Completely charges in about an hour and charges your device in about the same time.  Great for that extra boost of battery when nowhere near a charging outlet.  Fits great in a shirt pocket or back pants pocket and you can hardly notice it’s there.  Looks like a Duracell battery with the copper top!  The price is great at $30 and the fact that you can buy it at most retailers makes the Duracell Instant Charge Battery a product you can’t go without!

Video Review: SaFPWR XR Battery Case

Posted in Cases, External Battery, Reviews, Video by Omar C. Published March 15th, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Very nice quality case, available in a large variety of colors and in vertical or horizontal style, intelligent charging
Cons: A little pricey.
Overall: This is a really nice battery case, the quality is outstanding and they’re sure to have a style that suits your needs. It does add a bit of bulk to your iPhone, but that’s the price you’ll have to pay for having a backup battery being built-in. Definitely check out the XR from SaFPWR if you’re in the market for a backup battery case.

You can purchase this product directly from SaFPWR starting at $99.

Review: Simplism Emergency Battery

Posted in External Battery, Reviews by Mark Kennedy. Published March 1st, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: A unique take on the emergency battery back with alkaline batteries which hold a much longer charge then rechargeables
Cons: You have to replace the batteries when they die out
Overall: A great product that I like to have as a backup that can hold that charge you need for a long time. Rechargeable batteries lose power overtime where alkaline batteries have a much longer shelf life.

The Simplism Emergency Battery can be purchased at Simplism.jp
