Pros: A unique take on the emergency battery back with alkaline batteries which hold a much longer charge then rechargeables
Cons: You have to replace the batteries when they die out
Overall: A great product that I like to have as a backup that can hold that charge you need for a long time. Rechargeable batteries lose power overtime where alkaline batteries have a much longer shelf life.

Pros: Great Design and nice size battery that does not add too much bulk.
Cons: Exposed top will be a bit of a concern for those who worry about scratches or drop there phone a lot.
Overall: This is a great backup battery with a nice new design on a battery case charger and a great new design for the on/off button on this case.

Pros: Ability to charge your iPhone 1.5x, Built in flashlight and laser pointer, two models available, lots of accessories included
Cons: $70 is definitely on the high side of external battery packs, 30 pin connector does not work well if using a case.
Overall: This is a great device, although a bit on the pricey side, but with the current promotion I highly recommend it. If you use any style of case definitely pick up the mini-usb 1800 so the cable allows you to charge and not worry about adding additional stress on the connection.

Pros: Can fully charge your iPhone almost 4 times.
Cons: It’s a little awkward to use your iPhone while it’s plugged in and charging.
Overall: If you’re an iPhone owner you know that your beloved phone is a power hungry machine, so a backup battery is almost a must, the bigger the better. Well this battery happens to be bigger and better. It’s small and pocketable and with 4400 mAh of power you can’t go wrong, especially at the price point of $69.99. I enjoyed using this battery so much that I’ve decided to award it our Editors’ Choice Award.

Pros: Charges and syncs, comes with USB cord.
Cons: Doesn’t completely protect your iPhone.
Overall: Having a backup battery that is also a case is very handy and allows you to charge your iPhone and continue using it at the same time. Although I would not keep this case on my phone on a regular basis because of the lack of protection, I do keep it handy in case I’m getting low on juice and want to strap it onto my phone.

Pros: Has an iPod/iPhone 30-pin connector on the bottom instead of the usual micro/mini usb so you only need to keep your iPhone cable with you.
Cons: It’s awkward to use your iPhone when this is plugged into the bottom
Overall: Overall this is a nice battery pack for the iPhone, especially considering the price. It’s 1900 mAh so it’ll give your iPhone the power boost it needs to get you through another day of shopping with your family.

Pros: The power just goes on and on and on and on. Â I could not get it to die. Reasonable price and free shipping. Includes many adapters to power all your gadgets and there will be a Motorola Droid adapter soon.
Cons: It is not a case style battery so you have to kind of hold it while it is charging. Â The glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet.
Overall: The Mobile Spark External backup battery is one of the longest lasting external battery that I have tested to date. Â On one charge we power from totally dead mind you, 2 iPhones, 3 iPod Touches, 1 Nintendo DSi and then we played a dead DSi for about a half hour before this thing died. Â A few things I would like to see be implemented is a carrying case and some sort of automatic shutoff if the unit is not being utilized for more than say 10 minutes.

Pros: Comes with tons of adapter tips for many devices. Built-in LED light.
Cons: You can only charge the unit with the wall AC adapter.
Overall: This is a very nice external battery pack that every iPhone owner should have. I’m still shocked that it can fully charge an iPhone at least 3 times. Even though it has some weight to it, it’s still pocketable and easy to carry. For $60, it’s a really good buy.
