Photojojo Fisheye, Macro & Telephoto iPhone Lenses

Rating: 8 of 10
Pros:
Product is amazing and truly gives you amazing pictures.
Cons:
When installed it covers up the flash on the phone not allowing it to work properly.
Overall:
The three lens combination from Photojojo is truly amazing.  They are small and compact allowing you to take them on the go.  They can be attached to your key ring or camera bag for easy carrying.  They offer excellent build quality for long term use.  Unfortunately they can only be properly used with the phone while not in a case and upon attaching the lens it does cover up the flash.  Overall it is a great product which does as it is advertised and well worth the money.  You can pick this up from the Photojojo Store if you’d like to try it out for yourself.  Let us know your thoughts on it by leaving us a comment below.

Blue Spark XLR Microphone Review

Posted in Misc, Reviews, Video by Joon Lee. Published November 23rd, 2011

Rating: 10/10
Pros:
Outputs studio quality sound for a very reasonable price. Looks awesome with bright orange design. Very small and compact. Includes shock mount and pop filter. Comes in protective wooden box. Build quality is world class.
Cons:
The included shock mount is subpar. A little loose in holding the microphone in one position.
Overall:
If you are looking for a home studio microphone for your XLR setup, stop here now. This is your microphone. The microphone is very versatile and is perfect for voice-overs and music. The all metal build allows for a really sturdy microphone. If you want to use this with your computer, pick up an addition XLR to USB converter like the Blue Icicle. Your search for a 200 dollar studio XLR mic ends here. The Blue Spark is what you are looking for.

olloclip lens for iPhone 4/4S

Pros:
Creates some awesome photos from your iPhone 4/4S, macros are unprecedented quality, wide-angle givesmuch more perspective. Two different colors to choose from. Affordable at $69.99 or 2 for $129.99.
Cons: If you use a case the phone must first be removed. Black bag is easily misplaced around the house. Needs a pouch that can be attached to your keychain so you have it all the time.
Overall: The olloclip is about as much of a marvel as any photo lens out there.  The fact that this little clip on lens takes such fantastic photos with three different styles is a bit amazing. I did have a few minor complaints not to the product itself but to the usability and it’s not the fact you have to remove your case.  I love using this lens immensely but I often would forget it at home or in the car and miss great photo opportunities. What I would suggest is instead of the soft case included to implement some sort of case that can be attached to your keychain.  I use one of these with my Square payment system and the olloclip isn’t much bigger.  With this implementation I would always have my olloclip handy.

You can pick up the olloclip for &69.99 or 2 for $129.99 directly from olloclip.

Griffin Helo TC iPhone Controlled Review

Posted in Misc, Preview, Reviews, iPad, iPhone 4 by Doug Drummond. Published November 3rd, 2011

Rating: 10 out of 10
Pros: Quality construction metal frame, LED lights, Charges easily
Cons:
A little hard to control for a beginner
Overall:
I am a semi experienced RC Pilot and this thing really hits the mark!  Great fun flying with my iDevice!  This is a bit difficult to master, but the helicopter takes a minor beating and keeps going.  If you should break a few blades, Griffin includes some spare parts.
You can purchase this product from Griffin for $50.

Breffo Spider Podium stand review

Posted in Misc, Reviews, iPad by Doug Drummond. Published October 31st, 2011

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros:
Can bend into any position, can use to suspend off of things, works with any case
Cons:
Kind of clumsy
Overall:
This is a fun way to show off your tablet or in my case, iPad2.  Bends in any position you can create.  Coated in a soft, but sticky rubber coating so it holds your tablet steady.  Can be used with any case because you mold it to fit.  I don’t know if I’d trust it to hold my iPad2 off a wall, but does great on the desktop.  Grab yours from www.breffo.com. Models made for your tablet or cellphone, prices range from $19.99 for the cellphone to $34.99 for the tablet.

Mobee Magic Bar

Posted in Editors' Choice, Mac Monday, Misc, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published October 31st, 2011

Rating: 10 out of 10
Pros:
Can charge and use the keyboard at the same time, battery lasts about 3 1/2 weeks which impressed me, ascetically pleasing with the same aluminum finish as the mac.
Cons: The additional batteries are a bit pricey for a family with more than one keyboard or magic track pad.
Overall: I really enjoyed the magic charger for the magic mouse but I must say the Magic Bar really goes the extra mile.  With a relatively short charge time the Magic Bar lasts just under a month for the power user.  Combined with the eco-friendly aspect of recharging this product is a winner and gets my Editor’s Choice Award.

You can pick up the Mobee Magic Bar directly from Mobee for $59.90 and additional batteries for $29.90.

Gripdaddy Tech Mounts

Overall: 9 out of 10
Pros: Two different models to chose from but priced the same, super easy installation, fits most any tablet, doesn’t get much moresecure than this, affordable at $59.95, fits with many cases installed.
Cons: With some cases you get a little annoying squeak (so don’t use that case HAHHAHA)
Overall: I have tested a lot of good tablet mounts for the car and most of them are very good.  The difference between some of these mounts and the Gripdaddy mount is the quality and attention to detail all while keeping the price affordable.  With mount options for single viewing or the ever popular mount for parents with multiple kids and one tablet the V2ARM that supports the tablet between the 2 front seats. No more arguing who will get to use the tablet for viewing.  The Gripdaddy Mounts easily are awarded my Editor’s Choice Award.

Check out the Gripdaddy website and pick up whichever mount is right for you for only $59.95

iPhone4Parts White Transparent Backplate

Posted in Misc, Reviews, Video, iPhone 4 by Joon Lee. Published August 29th, 2011

Rating: 7.5/10
Pros:
Looks really cool. Feels like an OEM iPhone 4 Part. Relatively cheap. Easy to install
Cons:
No flash diffuser. Camera lens is a little fragile.
Overall:
This is a great alternative to having your back plate fixed at the Apple store. It looks really unique and can be a conversation piece when talking to people. It is a really good value at a smidge under 30 dollars. Check it out at iPhone4Parts.com.
