MiWallet Case for iPhone 4(S)

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Video, iPhone 4 by Tom Moccia. Published April 15th, 2012

Price: $27.99 directly from the MiWalletCase.com
Rating:
7 out of 10
Pros:
Combines wallet and phone thus avoiding the four pocket pat down, genuine leather, super affordable at under $30.
Cons:
Fit and finish news to be improved upon , need to flip open the case to use the camera.
Overall:
The MiWallet Case is a great concept at great price and available in black or brown leather.  If the fit and finish are improved upon in relation to the earpiece cutout, volume buttons and home button cutout it would be close to perfect.  Still a solid wallet case for those times when you want to minimize what your are toting around.

Spigen Macbook Air Skin

Posted in Mac Monday, Reviews, Skins, Video by Tom Moccia. Published April 12th, 2012

Price: $20.99 directly from the Spigen (SGP)
Rating:
7 out of 10
Pros:
Cool colors/designs, easy on/easy off, Spigen quality, affordable.
Cons:
Only comes with the top piece and no option for the bottom.
Overall:
The Spigen Macbook Air Skin is near flawless in execution yet I am baffled as to why there is no option to purchase the bottom skin, which is by far the most vulnerable part of the Macbook Air.  If your in the market for a top skin this may be the one for you.

iFrogz Breeze Case for iPhone 4/4S

Posted in Cases, Reviews, iPhone 4 by Mark Kennedy. Published April 12th, 2012

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Very nice silicone case with great color options
Cons: Lack of screen shield and slight issue of debris caught in the mesh design
Overall: This is a great silicone case with a nice fit and finish. With this case you are getting a great silicone case at a budget price of 20 dollars. Even with the lack of screen shields I feel this is a great case for the price.

iFrogz Breeze can be purchased at the iFrogz.com for $ 19.99

Uniq Clinch for iPad

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Video, iPad by Tom Moccia. Published April 12th, 2012

Price: $59 directly from the Uniq Website
Rating:
7 out of 10
Pros:
Soft interior, easy on easy off, quality leather, no added bulk
Cons:
On the high end of the price scale, soft back offers little drop protection
Overall:
The Clinch from Uniq is another quality product that I have enjoyed using and looks super classy on the iPad 2 or iPad 3rd generation.  It brings with it everything you would want from a case except that hard shell back to protect from an accidental drop.  That being said at $59 it’s rigt on the cusp of being too pricey yet the quality leather and soft interior compensate to make the price palatable.

Toru Smart Case for iPad 2/3

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Video, iPad by Mark Kennedy. Published April 11th, 2012

Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Great looking folder style case.
Cons: The sticker holding system may loosen hold after some time.
Overall: This is a nice case for those looking for a folio style case with stand features without a lot of bulk. Overall a fair case but could use help with the securing system; I feel the sticker over time will lose it’s tackiness.
Toru Smart Case can be purchased at the torucase.com for $ 49.99

Cons:
Bulkier Case.

The DualTek is a great case for those looking for superb protection for their iPhone 4/4S. It has great drop protection and is only slightly bulkier than your average snap-back style case. For $40, it’s a great value.

STM Grip & Skinny for iPad

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Video, iPad by Tom Moccia. Published April 10th, 2012

Price: $44.99 & $39.99 on the RadTech website
Grip Rating: 7
out of 10
Skinny Rating: 9 out of 10
Grip Pros: Nice matte finish lends to great grip, clasp closure easy to snap shut, functional sleep wake function.
Grip Cons:
Attracts fingerprints, the typing stand is a bit wobbly, stands could be tough to snap in and out, expensive.
Skinny Pros: Fantastic fabric feel, solid typing stand and angle due to the stand spanning the entire length of iPad, closure is super solid as it has a strap.
Skinny Cons: Fabric won’t be as easy to clean as a solid surface, only one viewing angle.
Overall: STM produces a quality product and the decision on one of these cases over another it really comes down to personal preference.

Maroo Otago Apple Keyboard Cover

Posted in Keyboard, Misc, Reviews, Video by Omar C. Published April 9th, 2012

Price: $69.99 on Maroo.com
Rating:
8 out of 10
Pros:
Genuine Leather, features two different angle options.
Cons:
High price point.
Overall:
The Otago is a great solution for those of you that regularly carry your Apple Bluetooth Keyboard around in a bag. It does a great job of protecting the keys and it looks quite stylish in genuine leather. I think the bigger factor that might cause some to shy away from this product is the price point. If you can get past that though, you’ll love the Otago from Maroo.

Newer Technology Power2U

Posted in Mac Monday, Misc, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published April 9th, 2012

Price: $27.99 or buy multiples and get an instant 20% off which equates to $22.99 each from Other World Computing (macsales)
Rating:
8 out of 10
Pros:
Keeps your charging area neat and clean, no need to use the charging block just the USB cord, no vampire power trickle when USB door is closed.
Cons:
A bit pricey if you plan on outfitting your entire house, the backside has a lot of stuff so it may be tight in some electrical boxes.
Overall:
The Power2u will save you time and aggravation when looking for someplace to plug in your device.  I would love to outfit the entire house with these units but considering the price this is a one or two room deal.  I would also like to see the next generation to somehow integrate ethernet.  I love this concept and really enjoy the ability to keep my charging area neat and clean.
