Radtech ClearCal Macbook Pro SS

Pros: Reduces glare, affordable, easy to install.
Cons: Personally strains my eyes, does not cover entire screen just viewable area.
Overall: While the ClearCal Macbook Pro screen shield from Radtech does everything it’s supposed to do. Protect the screen and reduce glare, the majority of these shields strain my eyes so they just aren’t for me. If you don’t mind the diminished clarity it should work just fine for you.

SGP Ultra Optics For iPad 2

Posted in Reviews, Screen Protector, Video, iPad by Tom Moccia. Published May 18th, 2011

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: The most clear anti glare shield I have seen to date, same SGP quality, fast shipping.
Cons: Expensive at $28.95 a shield, one of the harder installs and it seems like the shield is thin thus resulting in hard alignment.
Overall: SGP has scored yet another winner. This Ultra Optics is simply amazing as it retains the beauty of the display with virtually no finger prints. I have installed a lot of screen shield and I am amazed at the clarity and quality of the SGP Steinheil Ultra Optics. The iPhone 4 version of this shield was super easy to install yet the iPad version was rather difficult to align. Maybe it was the size of the film, I’m not sure so just be super patient.

You can purchase the SGP Steinheil Ultra Optics screen shields for the iPad 2 along with a multitude of other products directly from SGP.  The Ultra Optics for iPad 2 will set you back $28.95, which is a bit pricey in my opinion.  Click here to be directed to the SGP Store website.

With two shields in a pack and a price tag of $19.95 the ClearCal iPad Screen Shield is one of the best values out there.

Pros: Super easy installation, anti-glare and anti-fingerprint, comes in packs of two, display still looks great.

Overall: The Matte ShieldView from Speck for the iPad 2 is just as good if not better than their iPad 1 model. With a super simple installation and lack of fingerprints you. With two in a pack for $24.95 you really can’t go wrong and it makes you iPad look great.

SGP Steinheil Macbook Pro AntiGlare

Posted in Mac Monday, Reviews, Screen Protector, Video by Tom Moccia. Published May 9th, 2011

Rating: 6.5 out of 10
Pros: Keeps fingerprints off screen, reduces glare, affordable compared to other Macbook Pro screen shields.
Cons: Tricky to install as it is a very large piece of material, personally leads to a bit of eye strain as it is not a crystal clear.
Overall: The SGP Steinheil AG for Macbook Pro is a solid offering from a company whose products I have absolutely loved in the past. In this instance I had high hopes for the SGP Steinheil Antiglare for my Macbook Pro as I have had some problems with glare and fingerprints. The Steinheil AG does take care of glare and fingerprints that is for sure. Where the AG falls short is in the long term usage. Because the AG is not a crystal clear it led to some eyestrain for me as there is a bit of a grainy look to the screen. I was a bit surprised as I have always loved the AG on my iPad and iPhone in the past, but I think that you typically look at a laptop screen for a longer period of time which led to my eye strain.

The SGP Steinheil AG for Macbook Pro is available directly from SGP for $36.99 with the Crystal Clear coming in at $33.99. Click here to be directed to their website.

SGP Ultra Silke For iPhone 4

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Screen Protector, iPhone 4 by Ashley3G. Published April 22nd, 2011

Rating:  8/10
Pros: Good quality silicone, included screen protector, reasonable price, responsive button covers.
Cons:  The silicone picks up smudges/fingerprints easily.
Overall: A solid silicone case (one of the better quality ones I’ve tried) that comes at a great price of $19.99.  The included SGP crystal screen protector makes purchasing this case an easy decision, unless you’re turned off by the fact that it tends to smudge easily.

HTC Inspire 4G Seidio CONVERT Case

Posted in Cases, Review Preview, Reviews, Screen Protector by Doug Drummond. Published April 21st, 2011

Rating: 10 out of 10
Pros: Offers multiple cases from one package.  Converts from rugged to slim easily and quickly.
Cons: Won’t go into the holster screen facing out, when putting into holster, lock sometimes pushes up the silicone case.
Overall: Great value for people that want the ultimate protection in one case.  Offers multiple layers of protection from the screen protector to the slim slider case and all the way to the rugged tough outer silicone and rib cage.  Priced appropriately at $49.95, this case is a must, weather your going out for a casual night, or rock climbing, this case has you covered.  I would like to see the holster allow for the case to be stored both screen in and out, but love the fact that the holster can lock to hold the phone in.  Grab yours from Seidio by clicking here or typing in www.seidioonline.com.
