Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Works with 4 AA batteries.
Cons: Sometimes the iPhone causes the speaker to emit a slight hum sound.
Overall: The CA-461 is a great small sized speaker, perfect for the office or a small room in your home. For a $55 docking speaker, it’s a great buy. Having the ability to make it a portable travel speaker ensures that the music can go with you even when you’re outside. I’d definitly reccomend checking out the CA-461 Docking Speaker from Cyber Acoustics.

Pros: Great Sound, Easy to see clock, nice design, remote
Cons: I couldn’t find any.

Overall: I love this home audio solution for charging and playing your iPod/iPhone.  The alarm function has 3 different modes for the weekday, weekend or everyday alarms.  You can wake to the iPad, radio or buzzer and fall asleep to the radio or iPod with an auto shut off.  Beautiful design and unbelievable sound from the Reason 8 sound chamber, great bass, mids and highs.  This is for sure a great value at $99.99 from iHomeAudio.com.  Definitely a recipient of our BuyMeAniPhone.com Editors’ Choice Award for great sound quality, great design and multi-functional use.  I use it every night for charging and when entertaining around the house.

Pros: Amazing sound quality from such a small device. Extremely secure and protective.
Cons: Insertion and removal of device is somewhat cumbersome.
Overall: A fantastic device. Providing a rich experience the stock iPhone speakers cannot come close to. The added bonus of a protective casing for your iDevice is another benefit. I recommend if you’re in the market for a set of speakers, the iMainGo2 is the way to go.

Video Review: EOS Converge Wireless Audio System

Posted in Editors' Choice, Reviews, Speaker Systems, Video, iPad, iPhone 4 by Omar C. Published July 21st, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: You can stream audio all throughout your house from your iTunes library or even music sites like Pandora.
Cons: The speakers emit a slight hum or buzzing sound when there is no audio coming through.
Overall: This is an excellent solution for those of you that may be looking for a way to stream audio from your computer to different areas of your house. A built in audio system would cost thousands of dollars, but with the EOS Converge system you can easily install and set it up and have an awesome audio experience for a few hundred dollars. The overall audio quality of the music was very good. We’re awarding this product our Editors’ Choice Award.

If you’re interested in purchasing any of the EOS Converge components, you can find them at EOSwireless.com

Video Review: iHome iA5 Alarm Clock

Posted in Reviews, Speaker Systems, Video by Tom Moccia. Published July 15th, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Very sleek and feature rich system, works with or without iPhone Docked, 4 dim levels including having the display totally off, free app from iHome works in conjunction with the iA5.
Cons: It won’t blow your walls down with sound if that’s what you are looking for, the app stats are a little tempermental.
Overall: The iHome iA5 lives up to its reputation as an app integrated alarm clock and with the ability to use it with your iDevice or as a standalone alarm clock makes this a very unique product.  Heck even if I didn’t own an iDevice I would be interested in owning this alarm clock.  The one thing I would like to see implemented is an automatic dimming feature where the display automatically dims slowly over time after you tell the app that you have retired for the evening.

You can learn more about the iHome iA5 as well as all of iHome products by visiting their website.  There are many places to purchase the iA5 but I found the best deal on Amazon for about $87.

Video Review: iHome iHM79 Rechargeable Speakers

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Comes with carry case. Speakers have magnetic tabs on the bottom to snap the two pieces together for easy travel. Includes an all-in-one USB and audio cable.
Cons: It would be nice if the cord was a bit longer to keep the speakers further away from each other.
Overall: These are nice set of travel speakers and for the price, you get good sound. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for big sound in a small package.

You can purchase this product from iHome.com for $49.99
