Video Review: Just-Mobile Xtand Go

Posted in Reviews, Vehicle Accessory, Video by Omar C. Published March 12th, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Very versatile, includes a built-in Allen Wrench, .
Cons: It would be nice if the holder could work with an iPhone in a case.
Overall: I really liked this car mount. It was very flexible and easy to find a good sweet spot for positioning the iPhone. I also liked how it includes extra mount discs in case you want to secure it to your dash or place on your iPhone case. The only thing I would like to see added is maybe an adjustable mount to use it with your iPhone while it’s in a case. I think most people, including myself, probably won’t want to stick the mount disc on the back of  their case. I liked this product so much that I decided to award it our Editors’ Choice Award.

Video Review: Sony Handycam HDR-CX520V

Posted in Mac Monday, Reviews, Video, camcorder by Omar C. Published March 12th, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Records excellent quality video, 12MP still camera built-in, GPS tagging, 64 GB of built in memory.
Cons: The manual focus scroll wheel is not very user friendly, no viewfinder.
Overall: This is an excellent camcorder. I wish it included a mic input, but I’ll settle for the accessory shoe which can be used with microphones, lights and even a Sony bluetooth wireless mic. This camcorder is not cheap, but I feel it’s worth every penny with the quality of video it shoots, and the small form factor.

You can purchase this product from 42nd Street Photo for the current price of $899.

Video Review : dualLink by Cablejive

Posted in Misc, Reviews, Video by Tom Moccia. Published March 11th, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Charge and sync two iPhones or iPods at once, very durable cable and USB hub.
Cons: Cable is only 9 inches long, it’s a bit on the expensive side.
Overall: The duaLink by Cablejive is a fantastic solution for families who need to sync and charge more than one iPhone or iPod to the same USB port on your computer at once.  The only two things that make me a bit hesitant on this is the short length and the $25.95 price tag.

The duaLink from Cablejive can be purchased from their website fro $25.95 and while your there check out all their other offerings.

Video Review: Tech21 iBand + Cases

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Video by Doug Drummond. Published March 10th, 2010

Rating: 8.5 out of 10
Pros: Awesome new technology, very shock resistant, ultra slim fit.
Cons: not much lay on the table design, entire back open to geting scratched
Overall: I love this case, very minimal design and is very shock absorbant. I’d like to see more protection on the back and a thicker front lip for lay on table. The new design with the cut outs makes this case one of my top 5 favorites right now, not much bulk and cool technology.

You can see more of this case at the tech21 website here.

App Review: Weather Machine

Posted in Apps, Apps, Misc, Reviews, Video by Doug Drummond. Published March 9th, 2010

Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: lots of information other than the temperature, ability to pinpoint using GPS and auto locate for weather, cool weather alerts
Cons: A little redundant with 3 places to see the 5 day forecast, so much information it can be over whealming
Overall: This app is a perfect replacement from the stock generic weather app, ability to see weather maps, alerts, hourly and weekly forecasts.  Nice graphics to round it out and I love the rotate feature to graphical maps.  The $3.99 is a little high, but for all the features you get it’s not too overpriced.

If you are interested in purchasing Weather Machine for $3.99 click here to be brought to the iTunes page.

Video Review: Voi Lorem case

Posted in Cases, Reviews, Video by Omar C. Published March 8th, 2010

Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: Includes a lanyard.
Cons: Screen protector and cleaning cloth costs extra.
Overall: This is a very nice quality case. It’s stays together very securely and I think it would do a great job protecting your iPhone if you were to drop it while in this case. The price is right on point being under $30. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

You can purchase this case directly from Voi for $24.95.
